The health review, the tests and the next conversation.
What does the visit need to answer?
Before a visit, jot down what you want help with. Bring your medicine list and the offer you saw. Ask who will explain the decision, including a decision not to prescribe.
Who arranges needed tests?
The national medical-board advice says an online visit may need tests or an in-person examination to check the health problem. It says the clinician must arrange those checks or send the patient to another health professional who can do them.
Ask
Will I need a local test or an in-person examination?
Ask where it happens, who receives the result and who explains it.
Which checks do the medicine instructions call for?
The blood contains IGF-1, a substance that helps cells grow.
As of September 28, 2026, the official medicine instructions call for blood sugar checks before starting and repeat checks during treatment. They also call for regular IGF-1 blood tests during treatment. For people with diabetes, they call for checks for new or worsening eye damage.
The instructions warn that the long-term effects of IGF-1 staying high are unknown.
Ask
How will those checks be arranged for me?
What else needs reviewing?
Tesamorelin can change how the body handles some other medicines. The medicine instructions tell prescribers to watch for one medicine affecting another.
Ask
Have you reviewed my full medicine list?
How will we judge whether to continue?
Deep belly fat is fat around the organs. If that fat has not gone down, the instructions call for reviewing whether the benefits of continuing treatment outweigh the harms.
Ask
What change would count as useful, and when will we discuss it?
Ask who to contact between visits and what happens if the plan changes.
